Up for sale is my 2002 Holden Monaro Cv8 II in the stunning Vesper blue. The car has been cared for and it is very sad to see it go. Car has undergone a fair bit of modifications to the might LS1 which is mated up to a factor manual gearbox to make it the ultimate weekend driver. Modifications and car details are as follows:
ENGINE
- Very healthy LS1 5.7L motor with 172,000km. No ticks or noises and serviced every 6-12 months as I put less than 1,000km per year on it
- Performance cam tech cam package (lumpy and sounds very tough). Matching Dual valve springs, hydraulic lifters and a double row timing chain along with the lifters, retainers, collets and rocker stoppers were done at the time.
- Blueprinted oil pump to support the top end work.
- OTR with cooling panel cut out to give it the stock look.
- Aftermarket big tube headers in to a 2.5” catback exhaust (still has two resonators so is not crazily loud but can be loud when your foot is put down)
- Mafless tuned to 98 making 360HP and 687NM of torque.
GEARBOX AND DIFF
- standard gearbox internals, not a single crunch, grind or pop in any gear. Nice and tight shifting
- Exedy heavy duty light pedal clutch kit made to handle 400kw in excellent condition with no slipping
- GM Motorsports ripshift for a shorter distance when shifting
- 3.9 LSD Diff with no weird clunks or noises
- 1.5L Harrop Aluminium diff hat
WHEELS & SUSPENSION
- 18” Genuine CV8Z Wheels with new tyres all round. 235/40R18 at the front and 265/35R18 on the rear
- King springs all round with brand new Monroe shocks at the front. Front are SL height and rear are SSL height.
- Slotted rotors at the front and new DBA brakes all round.
Other maintenance completed in my ownership is a new genuine alternator and starter motor. The car has had the exhaust gaskets done due to a slight leak. Interior is the series II interior from the VZ (factory fitted), and is all black on black with blue dials for the cluster with dual climate control . All electronics work and the usual parts that give way have been fixed (ie roof lining, steering wheel and seats). Only let down is the door trims starting to show signs of wear. It has an aftermarket touch screen head unit with USB, Bluetooth and AUX. Car is also running a 4 channel amp to power the speakers. Car comes with a bonnet protector and headlight covers for that extra protection.
The car has a folder of paperwork of the work done along with log books and service history. It has been used as a weekender for me and for its age it presents very nicely. Unfortunately I have come to the point where I have to sell it in order to invest in property. These cars have become quite rare and will only appreciate in value. Price is 57,000. Not in a rush to sell and not interested in people’s “thoughts”. If you’re after a stock one be my guest. The car gets attention and compliments every where it goes. It has retained the stock look but sounds and is far from stock. If you have any questions feel free to call or text (text is preferred due to long work hours). Thanks for viewing!
