It’s with a heavy heart that I finally accept it’s time to part ways with my beloved Daisy Sunshine. She’s been my home full time since her professional custom fit out in 2018 and sadly it’s time I upgrade to something bigger. She is so comfy to live and travel in, but needs a little TLC before you hit the road.
She’s a 2001 Ford Transit long wheel base mid roof (I’m 165cm and can stand up inside)
462000 km
3 seater
2.4L diesel engine with amazing fuel economy for an old girl (up to 750km to an 80L tank) She’s always been super reliable - these things go forever (my x2 past transits were both still going strong with over 800,000km on the clock when I sold them on)
Tow bar
AC work great but needs to be re-gassed
Sliding doors on both sides – Amazing to keep her cool on camping/beach trips. HOWEVER – the drivers side sliding door has central locking issues – I think she needs new actuator (currently permanently locked closed).
Clutch replaced in 2021
160w solar panel (inside 12v power reader
2000W pure sine invertor (enough to power big appliances like a juicer/blender etc) (New in October 2024)
230AH Lithium battery (new in Nov 2024)
DC/DC switch (to charge the second ‘leisure” battery while you’re driving – but protect and avoid draining the car battery)
75L Brass Monkey fridge/freezer
2 burner gas cooktop AND OVEN – Cakes, lasagne, all the tasty things! (Comes with gas bottle – almost full)
Space for 2x25L Water Jerry cans
I’ve lived off grid for years and never run out of power or connected to external power sources
Thick insulation and soundproofing – Cool in summer, warm in winter
Super dark tinted windows keeps her cool and private.
Beautiful Tasmanian Redwood timber benchtop with crystals and shells set in a resin finish
Different LED lighting options on two separate switches – including dimmers
400x400mm Fiamma Rooftop Air vent/hatch with flyscreen
2.4m Kings Side Awning (super easy to put up and down)
HEAPS of storage
Ready to go kitchen kitted out with all the pots, pans and utensils you could possibly need
Custom roof racks including rollers to easily secure Longboards/SUP/Kayak etc
Funky custom “ladder” (rock climbing/bouldering hand holds) to make every day more FUN!
Fitted with the “caravan queen” sized bed sideways which allows for HEAPS of living space (bed length 175cm) – if you’re super tall you might need to snooze on a slight angle. It’s always been heaps of space for my partner and I.
Please note - TLC required: Priced to reflect work required
She’s blown an EGR valve (about $240 for the part, plus labour to install). This means that right now she drives like normal (easily up to 120km/h) for about 10km on the flat before loosing power and konking out. Driveable but not far, will likely need to be towed unless very close by.
Central locking having issues – Door actuator required for both sliding doors
Rust patches
QLD Registered until 25/04/25 - No RWC
Further questions, photos or test drives – DM me. She’s in Fingal. If you want to take her for a test drive she runs well, for the first 5-10km. Will provide a good indication of how she will drive once the valve is sorted. She’s still very liveable in the meantime, or would make an amazing mobile home on your property/guest space/teen retreat.
She’s been such an amazing van and so comfy to live in – I’ve just moved into a house and don’t have the time to rectify the issues detailed above. If you’re up for the investment she still has so much life in her and is super keen for more adventures!
