This was our family daily driver for many years, purchased around 2006 (I believe I am the second owner) at 113,000 km and garaged around 2016. Moved outside due to a lack of space a couple of years ago. The paint has suffered due to being used to go to work and left in the sun all day when it was used and from being outside for the past couple of years.
The car is unregistered and there is no roadworthy certificate.
The car was regularly serviced, had the heads replaced at 200,000 km, as well as what should be considered normal replacement items such as suspension bushes, brake rotors, wheel bearings etc. as required. The steering rack was also replaced. There was no problem with the car when it was parked up, our needs changed so we bought a 4WD. The plan was to use the components of the car for a project car; those plans have changed so now selling.
All in all, it has been a very comfortable and reliable car with plenty of power and economy. It has a tow bar and electric brake controller fitted - it was used to tow a small caravan well within its capabilities (14ft vintage caravan ATM 1400kg) with zero issues.
The car is complete except for the battery; I have started it in the past few weeks. I'm happy to put the battery back in so you can hear it run and / or drive it around our place. It runs well but has a rough idle when cold which I attribute to the stale fuel in the tank and / or some build up in the idle circuits. It has only been idled around our property on the stale fuel as I don't want to cause damage through detonation due to the stale fuel. So far as I can tell from that the transmission, brakes, steering etc are all in working order. I believe that with a full change of fluids and filters, and perhaps a dose of injector cleaner, the car will give many years of service. There are some roadworthy items I am aware of: tyres, a small leak from the right bank rocker cover, and the passenger front power window does not operate correctly (goes down a small way but not back up - can push it back up). I haven't checked any other windows because I don't want to risk them not going back up while it's in the weather.
There wouldn't be many S Pac S/C 6 VTs left I think - so many have been pulled apart and used for parts!
This car would suit someone that wants a smaller car project - that can be used while improving it. With some paint, elbow grease and love it can definitely be a really nice and desirable car once more. It is a good example of the model that has not been significantly modified - I think the only modification is a CAT back exhaust system which gives a nice subtle exhaust note. The wheels on the car are the original wheels but there is one missing center cap, and the three remaining have broken off retaining lugs as they go brittle.
It would obviously also suit someone looking for a donor car for a project.
I have priced the car at what i think is around the value of the parts if dismantled.
