Up for sale is my completely original 1998 VT SS Series 1 Commodore with 180,500 genuine km. I am the third owner and I have had the car since 2014.
It has been a Sydney car all its life, being sold new in September 1998 by West City Holden with 10km on the clock. In 2005, with 98,000km and full Holden dealership service history, it was sold to a private owner in North Sydney whom I purchased from.
In my 12 years of ownership, it has only travelled approximately 20,000km and has always been well cared for. I have lots of receipts for work and have recently replaced shocks and radiator (I will need to get a copy of this invoice from the mechanic) and in Sep 2025 (400km ago) spent $1,900 removing K-frame and suspension to address an oil leak and replace engine mounts and oil pump. It has always been garaged, and the paint is deep in colour, having last week received a professional buff from The Detail Co in Taren Point.
Being completely original, it does have a few of the common Commodore issues associated with this vintage. Not critical for but if you want it perfect, it needs a new A/C compressor (approx. $500 for a genuine new part), cruise control module (second hand modules online from $20), power aerial motor (less than $100). It does have various chips and scratches and the front bar has some paint crazing but as the photos show, it presents very well and without fail, gets comments every time it is taken out. Small hole in the rear seat upholstery.
As the last of the 5L Australian built V8 holdens, these models are becoming very rare and will soon see the rapid price rise all Holdens experience when they are eligible for club rego in 2028.
Full NSW rego expires at the end of May which I will renew in the coming weeks. Original owners books and service history will come with the car.
Inspections available for serious buyers.
