Bought the car in the UK and imported a few years back with the intention to sell but it is such an enjoyable and maintainence free car to drive, that I kept it. I have now lost my tax benefits on it so I would now like to sell it. But part of me is resisting and I am not forced to sell, though I will negotiate a little.
The car is fully compliant. I am the third owner.
It was owned by one owner for two years when new, then another owner for 23 years. He was an older guy and it was his pride and joy so he meticulously maintained it, wrapped it up in cotton wool during winters and only sold it because, with him being old, he found it difficult to get in and out of. (It is a low slung sports car after all!)
Being wrapped up in winter it has no rust. It all works perfectly and is a stress free pleasure to drive. I was originally looking for an XJS but so glad I got this instead because it has the reliability (from when Ford owned Jaguar) and the comfort and luxury of a Jag saloon combined with the power, speed and looks of a Jag sports car. I just got four new tyres on it to get it re-registered, not because they were worn out but because they were over ten years old, which shows the small amount of kms it has chalked up in the last 10 years. New battery last year. Car has been serviced about 100kms ago.
It has cool private plates that relate to the word Jaguar, which cost $115 per annum, and which I believe have value by themselves. The taupe coloured soft-top is both unique and beneficial if the car is driven (top up) or parked in the sun during summer, as it is cooler than the usual black.
It has a 4.0 litre V8 engine and 216.0kW of power! Huge boot for touring too.
