This XR6 has had a full closed-door respray in its factory Navy Blue and the duco is excellent. At the same time, the red stripes were also restored. The interior is also in excellent condition and has recently been professionally deep cleaned. I also just had brand new custom floor mats manufactured to replace the originals. There are no dash lights illuminated, and everything works as it should. It would be very hard to find a mid-90s Tickford as striking and clean as this.
The vehicle has a partial service history; however, the previous owner was a car enthusiast and collector so serviced and maintained it and his other impressive vehicles regularly. You can just tell this car has been looked after exactly the way it should have been. This year, I have performed the following maintenance items:
- a general service (engine oil/filter, air filter)
- automatic transmission service
- main drive belt replaced
- new front and rear brake rotors and pads
- new front ball joints and hub seals
- new rear shocks
- minor repair to centre exhaust muffler and hanger
- new bonnet and boot struts
- new battery
When purchased, the car was optioned with the 16” shark-fin alloys from the XR8, and these were also fully restored at the time of respraying. The tyres on this car have plenty of tread and the lock nuts have also just been replaced. There really is nothing to do but enjoy this exceptional vehicle for what it is.
