IDEAL FOR MUSEUM OR COLLECTOR
A brand-new 1993 Lexus LS 400? Not quite, but this is about as close as you’ll get in Australia.
I’ve owned this vehicle for the past 23 years. It’s always received authorised Lexus service as the best way to keep it near-new. With 3 cars and 2 drivers, it’s had limited use in recent years and deserves a new owner.
I’ve included information I’d want if I was buying the car, including any known faults and items flagged by Lexus.
The car is in Silver Mist and cosmetically excellent especially considering its age. It doesn’t appear to have ever been involved in a significant accident. Minor garage and parking lot scrapes have been professionally repaired. The wheels show minor balance weight marks but no kerb damage.
The Grey-Blue leather seats are beautiful, with no holes or tears and only minor superficial age cracks. They are periodically treated with leather cleaner and conditioner. The carpets are in very good condition. The tool kit is original and complete. The car is garaged in the Southern Highlands of NSW.
The climate control works perfectly, producing 7°C air on full cold. The sound system provides truly remarkable audio quality, giving an experience unmatched by nearly any other car on the road.
OFFICIAL AUTHORISED SERVICE
Authorised service and careful ownership show in this car. It’s beautifully smooth and quiet, with a virtually-imperceptible power train during normal driving. The engine idles smoothly enough to balance a 50-cent coin on its edge, even when revved. The car has almost exclusively used Shell V-power Premium fuel. This, and excellent maintenance—including the often-neglected tappet adjustment every 80,000 km— means the engine is in outstanding condition with fuel consumption of approximately 9.7 litres per 100 highway km.
Proper maintenance means the engine always starts immediately, extending the life of ancillary components such as the starter motor, alternator, and battery. Using only Lexus oils and fluids maximises the lifespan of components. In recent years, due to low kilometres the car has had half-interval or yearly services.

The instrument cluster and the ECU computer were both repaired 3 years ago by Mr Jim Walker (the "Lexpert") of Fresno, California, USA. Jim is world-renowned for his expertise and quality workmanship in these areas, and these now work perfectly.
I have all the service receipts from the past 22 years.
Everything works except the cigarette lighter. No smokers use the car so this has not been fixed. There are 3 keys. The original remote key’s case cracked and it is not currently working, but all the parts are present. I have not yet found a replacement case, so repairing the original may be necessary. If the CD player has not been used for a long time and the weather is cold some tracks may skip until warming up.
There is a fine crack in the plastic trim cover along the front of the sunroof. A hairline crack in the console wood trim is so fine it’s not visible in photos. One rear strut shows a minor leak but has not reached the point where Lexus service deems replacement is necessary.
PRICING
It’s hard to value a car that’s a rare item, so I’m starting with a high price and will periodically reduce it until it sells. The car is comprehensively insured for $32,000.
