My wife and I enjoy taking it out out for it's monthly run, and I enjoy keeping everything in perfect condition, using only the best fuel, oils and genuine parts. I've always owned at least 1 or more other performance MX5's to play & modify with, so this vehicle is my garage queen and I revel in it's glorious originality.
Of course, the vehicle never goes out in the rain, and lives under a car cover within a sealed garage with the parkbrake not applied, the doors slightly ajar, and on a trickle charger when not going to shows.
Recent preventative maintenance mechanical work included replacement of all rubber suspension bushes front and rear, rear diff bush inserts, timing belt and tensioners, water pump, all rubber coolant hoses (genuine), thermostat & housings, radiator coolant pipe, CAS O-ring, all front engine seals, cam cover gasket, 12v battery, all filters and fluids. All changed purely from an age perspective and to ensure ongoing faultless reliability. No-one works on this vehicle but me, I'm fully trade qualified, and every nut, bolt and clamp was replaced back in it's original factory position and tension.
This vehicle has been my pride & joy for a long time, and is one of the best available in Australia. My wish is that is finds a new home with another serious enthusiast or collector where it can continue to be enjoyed.
