If you don’t know anything about the Lancia Delta Integrale, get googling!
There so much information available.
In summary, the Lancia Rally team with the Integrale 16v ran away with the World Constructors Championship six years in a row between 1987 and 1992, racking up 46 outright victories, before bowing out after the 1992 Rally Sanremo. Unveiled in 1989, the Delta Integrale 16v was ‘just’ another step up the evolutionary ladder, boasting 200bhp against the previous peak of 185bhp. More than two decades later, its reputation as a legendary driving machine is assured. The most prepared company for the transition from Group B to Group A racing was Lancia. Their determination to stay on top of the field is evident not only in the evolution of the Delta race car but also in the road car.
All cars after 1989 have a 16-valve head, larger fuel injectors, and a slightly revised compressor. Specifically, the turbine on the turbocharger is smaller, but the wastegate is modified to provide a larger boost. These 16V examples deliver 200 bhp, 15 more than the eight-valve design.
Credit to the previous owner, who spent thousands on maintenance and upkeep. Full records available.
New Link ECU installed and tuned on 98; existing injectors and turbo were perfectly tuned, achieving peak performance of 150kw and 250dnm at all 4 wheels on a chassis/roller dyno. Not big performance numbers considering today's standard, but the Lancia is light in comparison, and the drive is awesome. The existing ECU is supplied, which was in working order.
The best Lancia is one that has been used and maintained. Ex-Japan import, and concessional license in Western Australia. Factory air conditioning.
