I've owned this car since August 2023. Purchased to do a cancer charity drive in an old car. So I did drive it to QLD and back from Melbourne. Love the car and wanted to keep it, but it needs some mechanical love and I thought I had the time, but I don't. It's costing me rego and insurance but I'm not getting to drive it. So selling. I'm the 3rd owner. Original owner owned if from 1989 to 2021 and had it serviced by Mercedes the whole way - but I'm sad as I've misplaced those papers :( - then a person bought it as a project car, but had too many projects and sold it on to me in 2023. Have papers to show this ownership change in 2021 and 2023. It was not plan to keep the car, but it was a surpisingly good fun and comfy car during the charity that I kept it and kept driving it for a year. However it has developed a few mechanical issues and I have not been able to find the time to repair, so looking to move on to a new interested owner. Here's the issues with the car: 1. Some sort of fuel delivery issue - car will start and run fine if slightly inclined at the front. If pointing downhill or on flat it will struggle to idle and stall. With a slight incline it will idle all day long. Can see attached video for motor idling fine (when slightly inclined at nose - which is my drive way) 2. Automatic transmission upshift issue - the transmission has started not wanting to upshift while under normal acceleration. It's reluctant to upshift while under power. You need to come off accelerator and then it will shift up to next next. And a little eager to down shift again. So you need to be soft on throttle to keepit in the gear required. 3. Driver side electric window no longer going up/down - A new one to me when taking photos for this ad. :( 4. Exhaust has some holes mid vehicle - so a little loud and needs repair Interesting notes: - Has new Pirelli tyres in 2023 and not too many kms on them. - for the charity we did have an auto electrician add extra cigarette lighter ports for charging phones and running car fridges. See picture of it in imperfection photos sections. - it's a 35 year old car so it has some dents and knicks in it - which were all there when we purchased. The clear coat on the boot is peeling - also like that when we got it. - the damage that I've done to it is the charity stickers did not come off cleanly. In some cases it pulled the clear coat off :( and on other cases it's left sticker residue which I've not been to aggressive on cleaning off as it isn't coming off easy.
