This MX5 is one of the first to be delivered to Australia in the very first year of their production. It is a very orginal example suitable for the serious collector which shall be rewarded with the 40th anniversary of this most popular sports cars quickly coming up. It was orginally sold by Penfold Mazda of Burwood on 30 November 1989.
It comes with the original black hardtop which is in the rare early specification of the earliest MX5's only, with no rear window demister. It has recently been resprayed.
All original: Mazda booklets, wheels, momo steering wheel and cover, space saver spare wheel and cover, toolkit and jack, radio, vinyl soft top and cover. The vinyl soft top, being original, is showing signs of its age but is still totally usable.
Being Australian delivery, it has airconditioning and power windows. in 1989 they were only available in Australia in either red or white and the hardtops, when optioned, were only available in black. They did not come with power steering so you get the benifit of the beautiful road feel through the steering. This car also still has the best 'knotchy' feel with the gear change.
American Clearwater headrest speakers and Enforcer anti-theft alarm installed.
The car has been thoroughly looked after as a collectable and has been on club registration since 2014 which is not transferable.
