Hi!
This was my first car, purchased about 2002!! I have held onto it for all these years, but with no real use for it and the desire to free up some shed space, it's time to sell.
Holden/Buick Series 1 V6
5 speed manual
Grey interior
Pale blue paint
Always shedded. Hasn't prevented surface rust, but much better than most VNs that have survived by this age.
The wagon has been disused for many years, as my life and needs changed and I moved onto utes/4WD vehicles. She just moved between and within sheds as required.
I did get enthused about driving it on some car cruises a while back and spent a fair bit of time getting it up to scratch. We replaced some brake hoses, had to install a fuel tank liner kit as it had all rusted inside...(man that's a big job to do properly!), new fuel pump etc. I discovered an engine miss at the time- it was only present when cold and cleared quickly. I put engine sealant in the radiator and that has worked, so it probably needs a new head gasket if you want to fix it properly.
We made it ready for the road just as Covid took hold, so that was the end of that idea. I reckon I took the family out once.
The history of the car before my ownership is unknown. Being pale blue, it was not a civilian delivered colour. My best resources say SA government. What department is unknown. It is not a BT1 (police patrol/chaser) but may have been another use such as booze bus or detective etc for Police. There were/are signs of accessories being fitted. I spoke to a guy recently who worked for Telecom back in the day when it was Government run. He recounted driving many pale blue vehicles including a VN wagon, so that's a possibility.
Give me a call, I will be happy to have a chat!
