Reluctantly (sadly) selling my daily driver HJ61.
Important - Photos are of it at Broome Turf Club - thats about as off road as I like to take her (300m from the bitumen).
2 previous owners before me (known of).
Originally from Victoria - had it trucked to Broome. Always garaged/carported. Lots of work done to it. Selling due to need for an off road rig and I refuse to turn this into one.
Motor/Servicing:
Regularly serviced the 12HT myself or Broome Toyota (for bigger services). Care of engine has always been my priority. Has done less than 10k kms in my ownership. Drives me to and from work.
Rust:
Is a simple situation. There is rust damage in the sun roof - fixed, cleaned and left exposed to prevent further corrosion. Rust in passenger front door - easy to get to and repair - have simple treated it and left it exposed. Also rust in rear wheel arch size of small 5 cent piece and contained. Tiny (pencil tip sized) rust spot in rear floor under carpet - also treated and left exposed. All exposed rust has been left to be able to monitor it and care for it. Everything else is as clean as they come. Chassis is tidy. No chassis over-paint done - it is what it is. I like to see what is going on.
Roof/Paint:
Roof had rust hiding in it when I purchased it in 2020. Has been fully and properly cut out with new steel panels put back in, primed and painted. No rust left behind. Darker base colour never resprayed. Sticker decal is retrofitted.
Upholstery:
Have had the door cards reupholstered and kept original rather than replacing with flatter new ones. As such the cards are old but the upholstery on them is straight and clean. Drivers seat needs repair - just have never got around to it as have had seat covers on it. Carpet is original and clean.
Rear boot card on left hand side is a new replacement as old one was too tired and worn. Roof (head) liner has been replaced with new as old one was tired and worn also. Also have replaced the engine bay bonnet liner.
PTO winch/Original Bull Bar:
Winch works and I have replaced with dyneema winch rope. Only ever used once to test it. Bull bar is original Stainless Steel.
AC / Electronics:
All windows work. Have installed a US OEM drivers button cluster. Is upside down due to US origin. I still have original that partially works. Is an ugly fit but it works. I can 3D print a housing for it if the buyer wants to neaten it up - again just haven’t gotten around to it. AC condenser leaks gas. Needs replacement with access to good wreckers spares. Broome is too isolated.
Have tried to keep as original as I can.
Needs to go to a home where it will be cared for and garaged.
Happy to negotiate/arrange Australia wide transport.
Plenty more little things to talk about but thats pretty much the situation.
If she stays with me she will go on to a club membership and be garaged until she turns into an antique collector in 7 years time.
