* I have owned this car for 13 years. I imported it from the UK myself, personally selecting the marine blue with red combo which took me some time to find.
Some things worth noting...
* 4 owners over 36 years (construction company owner, surgeon, McLaren F1 GP1 tech team lead and myself). Not for one day has this car belonged to an owner who thought to economise.
* Regular use and maintenance. If you track the year by year history, you see a car continuously maintained and driven. No barn find here.
* This car has full documentation since day 1. Not just the stamped service book which has overflowed (more on that next), but receipts and other documentation spanning back to the 90's. Totalling many tens of thousands of dollars in expenditure (more on that too).
* In terms of servicing - it is possibly the most 'on the button' service history you'll find - close to 30 stamps / services, including 4 or 5 routine timing belt changes.
* I have spent over $40K in maintenance myself since owning this car - maybe $50K, About $30K in the past 4 years. No need to be concerned over any nasty surprises.
* It sits in my air conditioned garage under cover every night, but I only get to drive it every week or so, for no more than 20klm at a time. It deserves better. But no need to worry about underutilisation - it still gets a healthy run on country roads each 7-14 days.
As I live not far from country roads, it is tasked with responding to some enthusiasm on my part, and I still marvel at how quickly it climbs the revs and how effortlessly it consumes the road. It is a thoroughly enjoyable event getting behind the wheel of such a machine.
If kept in the right hands, driven regularly, and correctly serviced with all documents retained, this car will only continue to appreciate in value.
The car is currently on club / historic plates which are not transferable. It's last RWC was 2 years ago.
