**DUAL FUEL, LPG and Petrol**
This is my 1988 Ford Fairmont EA station wagon in Chardonnay with complementing Tan Bark interior.
Came from the factory with a 3sp T bar and 3.9L centre point injected 6 cylinder.
I have owned this car since 2011 and it was my daily driver till 2020 till I purchased another car for this to be my weekender. I’ve kept the car on full rego since ownership and since 2020 it’s been garaged and driven on weekends. My plan was to get it on club plates but I need the garage space with my wife getting a bigger car. The clear coat on the roof started to peel so I had the roof, front and rear windscreen frame professionally resprayed in 2022.
History
- 4L Intech engine installed from an AU Falcon with twin electronic thermo fans.
- Original 3sp transmission rebuilt with trans cooler.
- Second hand limited slip rear differential installed.
- Haymen Reese heavy duty tow bar.
- 65L scuba tank LPG installed in 2007, tank re-inspected in 2024 by LPG specialist and stamped for another 10 years. The LPG converter was also serviced at the same time and the car runs great on LPG and Petrol. It has a 70L petrol tank and between 1 tank of LPG and Petrol I’ve gotten about 1100kms on highway.
- Tinted windows.
- Rear end suspension major overhaul in 2025 from Pedders.
- Front end suspension components replaced over the last 3 years.
- New front and rear DBA rotors & pads installed in 2023.
- New windscreen installed 2022.
- Brand new tyres installed by Bob Jane
- Sound system installed including Headunit, Amp and Subwoofer.
- Many more maintenance items updated in my history of ownership.
Items needing attention
- Aircon works but needs to be re-regassed.
- Rust in rear dog legs/rear arches have been treated but needs longer term attention.
- Windscreen washer and bottle needed.
Other than cracks in the vinyl on top of dash, the interior is in fairly good condition. Body is in good condition considering its age. Would make a good daily, first car or project.
The odometer still works with 272,000kms.
I won’t be selling with Rego or Roadworthy as I work full time and don’t have the time to chase it up.
