1982 Ford Bronco – Refurbished and Rust-Free – 393 Stroker V8
Selling my 1982 Ford Bronco, affectionately known as the "Little Pony".
If you're after a truly unique Aussie-built Bronco, this one is something special!
Professionally rebuilt (around 2014 approx) from the chassis up, with extensive work completed to make it solid, rust-free and feel like a tank! The chassis rebuild was inspected and certified by the original Ford engineer responsible for the Australian F-Trucks program. I have a lot of the original receipts from the previous owner that I can provide.
Finished in "Nighthawk Black" — a deep black that shimmers with metallic blue in bright sunlight — the paintwork looks outstanding in person. The Bronco has always been stored under cover and properly maintained.
Key Details:
5.8L 351 Cleveland V8, stroked to 393ci (Approx 77,500 km)
Dual 2.5” exhaust with stainless tips, Hitech extractors, MSD ignition, Edelbrock carburettor
Twin high-speed thermo fans
2” professional lift
Mickey Thompson ATX black mags
Mickey Thompson Baja MTX 35x12.5x15 tyres (~10,000 km) - Admittedly the tyres are HUGE and not ideal for tight spaces, but they look amazing, and a Bronco is not designed to be practical. It looks and drives like a tank!
Performance driveshaft (~8,000 km)
Diff with Moser 31-spline axles
King Shocks
Power steering box
Starter motor, alternator, K&N high-performance air and oil filters
Tailgate electric motor with lanolin-protected internal structure
Air conditioning installed but will need to be re-gassed
Other Features:
Original 1982 black dash — not the later beige trims that these Broncos often have
Black carpet with stainless checker-plate detailing
The internal seatings are not original, I had plans to install custom seats as part of a plan to do a full restoration (rest-mod style) but I just never got around to it.
Hidden Kenwood DVD stereo, amplifier, JBL speakers, reversing camera (screen hidden unless activated) - This is an older unit that is well overdue to be upgraded, but the engine is so loud and sounds amazing so I never use the stereo, I would recommend replacing IF this is is important to you, but you wont hear it over the loud engine and ehaust anyway ;)
Custom trimmed door panels
Stainless steel TJM checker-plate side steps
Custom plates L1LPNY included
This Bronco has always drawn attention for the right reasons - it looks, sounds and drives exactly how a classic V8 Bronco should. It’s been cared for with the intent to keep indefinitely as these early Bronco's are rare and is a solid investment for the future.
Price is firm. Genuine buyers only — no time-wasters, tyre kickers or lowballers.
Inspections welcome — you’ll be hard pressed to find a cleaner, more solid early Bronco.
As expected with a classic vehicle of this age, it’s not a brand-new car and has the usual old-school characteristics that come with owning a classic Bronco. It presents exceptionally well and is very solid structurally, but buyers should expect the occasional rattle, vibration and imperfections consistent with a genuine 1980s V8 truck.
This Bronco would suit someone who appreciates driving a very large, very loud, very solid beast of a car that turns heads wherever it goes! Enjoy it exactly as-is, or do some further improvements if you choose - You can't go wrong with a Bronco and they have proven themselves to be an asset that will continue to increase in value.
Located in Geelong.
The vehicle is driven briefly every two months to keep it active, but it will require a service and brake adjustment before any serious test drives.
Selling reluctantly because I never get time to enjoy it, but not in a rush to sell as it so no lowballers or time wasters please.
Serious buyers only, there's other Broncos cheaper, and some more expensive... Very hard to find another early Bronco presented and built to this standard.
No swaps, I have enough toys already.
