1981 Holden Commodore VH SL/E - Genuine Two Tone Factory 5L V8, Factory Leather, $130,000+ Restoration
One of the most comprehensively restored VH SL/Es in the country. Genuine factory L31 5.0 V8, genuine factory leather interior (confirmed by original ID tags), and a documented two-year restoration completed in 2023 with the receipts to back every dollar.
The cars only negative is that I never received the original log books when I purchased it.

The combination of factory V8 and factory leather in a VH SL/E is genuinely uncommon. Most surviving examples have lost one or the other, and "factory leather" in particular is widely claimed but rarely backed by ID tags. This one is.
The Restoration
Completed three years ago over a two-year build, with full receipts and documentation available for inspection. Every cent accounted for, every major job done by professionals. The brief was simple: do it once, do it properly.
Where the money went:
$50,000 - driveline and suspension including all bushings (355 Stroker 515HP)
$35,000 - bodywork and paint
$10,000 - interior, including all new carpets and full Dash Doctor restoration
$7,000 - replacement parts (Rare Spares etc)
$6,000 - chrome trim and bars done by A.A Vinneys
$5,000 - full electrical rewire
$5,000 - new brake system including lines, upgraded to VT brakes
Plus new glass all round and various smaller items
The only two original components deliberately preserved are the steering wheel and the factory leather seats, both kept to protect the car's authenticity. Everything else has been restored or replaced to a standard most owners will never attempt.
Why This One Is Worth The Money;
You can buy a tidy VH SL/E for $40k. You can buy a "restored" one for $70k. What you cannot easily buy is a genuine factory Two Tone 5L V8, factory leather SL/E with a documented six-figure restoration, ID-tag verification, full receipts, and a roadworthy in hand.
