We are reluctantly selling our beloved Volkswagen T2 Kombi George. He is a 2 litre, 8 seater, manual. We are only his second owner. The original owner purchase him new in 1979 in Brisbane and sold him to us in 2017. He was fully restored in around 2012. We have copies of the original receipt from when he was bought in 1979.
When we were looking for a Kombi in 2017 we inspected at least ten before we came across George, he was head and shoulders better than any of the other vans we looked at. He was really well looked after by the original owner and we have continued that care.
Since owning George we have only ever done routine maintenance. He was driven every day in Townsville, to and from work but now he is sitting in our garage and he really needs to be driven more often. All receipts for the work we have done along the way are available. We are only selling because he is no longer being used and needs to go to someone who will get out and about in him. He's a real head turner and you will find yourself being waved to regularly and bailed up in carparks to ask about him.
Paint is 14 years old and is generally in really good condition, no rust other than the usual minor spots.
Mechanically he starts and runs well.
Interior is in good condition.
He is neat tidy and reliable.
