Registered for another 12 months, this 1978 4.5L V8 450SLC runs like clockwork and has been impeccably maintained by Karlo Kittl Willoughby with no expense spared and has recently undergone structural restoration works to ensure safe motoring for decades more years. The air conditioning is ice cold, steering is tight, the blue velour interior is in excellent original condition and the timber veneer trim is superb. All the windows and the sunroof work beautifully, the interior is clean and original, and the body is straight. The car comes complete with its original bundt wheels including the spare with its Michelin tyre. Included in the sale are the original Becker Mexico head unit and speakers (not fitted), first aid kit and replica Becker radio with bluetooth and CD player for the motoring connoisseur to enjoy connectivity without compromising style (not fitted). Also included is a meter of correct Mercedes blue velour fabric which should be used to rejuvenate the parcel shelf at the new owner's leisure (a project that the current owner had in the pipeline).
This gorgeous car comes with an original key, original first aid kit and a full service record for the complete duration that the car has been under its current ownership (early 2018) and back to 2014. The car was bought from a collector in South Australia who barely drove it, and prior to that it was owned for many years by a Boeing pilot who meticulously completed all services himself and did attempt to buy the car back last time it was up for sale.
This 450SLC has had its timing chain replaced along with fan, power steering and alternator belts, plus had a new water pump installed. As is normal in these cars, the cruise control and central locking do not function.
This car has been much loved by its present owner and is sure to give its new owner many more years of joyful motoring.
This car is the best example of a 450SLC on the market currently and in my view is very reasonably priced given its headache-free status! Available for viewing in Wollstonecraft. Needs to go prior to owner heading overseas.
