NSW reg 'til 6/12/26. Great plates - MER 78C with no extra RMS fee.
UPDATE - valve seals renewed to address smoking problem. Replaced timing chain, valve cover and sump gaskets while at it. Runs very well now with no smoke. Adjusted kick down to hold gears a bit longer. Great club cruiser, not perfect but generally nice overall. It is 48 years old and presents well. Very nice comfortable cruiser. Beautiful smooth ride especially at speed.
W123 model turns fifty this year. Plenty of club activity planned around the country. This car would have no issues on any long trips.
Please don’t dismiss this car because I have described it with honesty, it is a great car for the asking price. It gets heaps of attention on the road and in parking lots. It has been well received in the local Mercedes club of which I am a member.
History only goes back to around 2012 when the previous owner bought the car with no books or records.
I bought the car from the side of the road after admiring it locally for years. I have detailed it well and replaced several parts to factory standards including door strikers, floor carpets, driver's door strap.
This car does not have a sunroof which is disappointing for some but not bad news for others. No extra spots to rust.
Interior is very good with the exception of typical wear to driver's seat, this is covered by sheepskins. Nice wood and solid dash cover which is hard to tell is not original. I had it for weeks before I noticed. These covers are no longer available.
Even the boot looks clean and as new.
New battery, stereo with Bluetooth and speakers, front pads, rotors and rebuilt calipers. AC fitted but not working. I don’t know why the AC doesn’t work, it’s probably more than a re-gas. I only drive in good weather and enjoy the pillarless windows down style.
Will come with refurbished bundts with either 70 profile standard tyres or 75 profile whitewalls as shown in one of the photos.
I found small amounts of rust in typical places which has been treated accordingly to preserve the vehicle. Nothing too serious.
I have another project underway now and need the space.
