Much loved 1976 2L pop-top kombi for sale due to personal unforeseen circumstances.
We bought this kombi in 1991 and named it "Basil". It has not been used much for long distance travelling while in our care. In 2020 the engine was fully reconditioned in Hobart and has had annual services since then by a mechanic who knows these engines very well. All invoices to show repairs etc. available. It runs well and has only done 27,000 km since the recondition. Manual transmission, sound paintwork , tyres and brakes. There is very little rust that I can see. I have only just realised that the paint is a primer coat. Various maintenance items can be included.
In 2017 the heavy chip board was replaced with foam enclosed in Tasmanian Oak laminate. Not only is it attractive but the vehicle is much lighter than before, improving its performance. The table is mainly Myrtle.
This is a mobile micro-home, ready to go. It has a double bed, gas stove, fridge and sink. There are two 10L containers for water and one for grey water. The lighting is LED, therefore bright and low demand on the battery. There is a house battery and a solar panel attached to the roof.
There is a lovely bespoke annex which cunningly attaches to the side of Basil. All three sides are removable so you can choose which configuration you want. There is a ground sheet, there is also a porta-potti which can go with the vehicle and annex. Instructions on how to put up the annex, with photos, are available to the buyer.
We enjoyed going away in the kombi but my husband died in January so keeping it is not an option any more.
