No fancy bucket seats or leather steering wheel here. Just 100% originality and 100% fun.
Meet Molly, our beautiful 76 998cc Aussie built Leyland Moke. She's been in our family since Jan 2016 and only used sparingly for fun trips to the beach and school formals etc. Now our kids are all grown up and it's time to say goodbye.
I bought the car from Bruce Young, a Brisbane based mini and moke enthusiast, who found the car on Macleay Island in 2010 and spent the next 6 years restoring her from the ground up using all genuine parts and also gave her a full body respray in the fantastic and unusual colour she is today. He also had the engine stripped down and rebuilt. A full inventory of receipts is available for inspection and will come with the vehicle. The only modification we have done in our 10 year of ownership is the addition of a rear seat making her a 4 seater and in that time we have only added 7000 km to the clock.
The roof is the original one and has become very brittle as it is almost 50 years old. This will need to be replaced if you intend to drive her around with the roof up, which we never do. Apart from that she is in fantastic condition and raring to go.
The car has always been garaged and covered when not in use.
I have a box of unused spares which will come with her too.
