Here is a great opportunity to obtain a matching numbers 5 Litre V8 and 4 speed manual LX SS Torana Hatchback in the killer combo of Tuxedo Black with Chamois trim. In unrestored condition, this rare Tory could benefit from a repaint and a tidy up but this is a super rare SS Torana running the matching numbers 5 Litre V8 and M21 4 speed with log books and Holden manuals.
Originally sold by Dwyers Holden in Wollongong, NSW to a Mr. Allan McMahon of Maroubra, NSW on the 13th of July 1976. The Torana was held by Mr. McMahon until May 1984 when it was sold to the second owner a Mr. Ian Mutch of Austinmer, NSW. Bought by the current owner in 1998, the car was restored, engine and driveline rebuilt and then driven to Perth where the owner used it as his daily driver. Last registered in 2007, the Torana was then stored in a carport but has remained remarkably rust free to this day.
Although now in need of some tidying up, the Torana has survived remarkably well with the original running gear still in place, the body number in perfect condition and the compliance plates never removed from the car.
The owner has had the two front seats retrimmed in the correct Chamois trim, new loop pile carpet installed with the original dash, gauges and steering wheel still in their place. The Torana is showing a genuine 146,946 Kilometres on the clock and is supplied with the original owners log books and Holden manuals plus the original keys.
The engine bay has been restored and the all matching numbers HT prefixed L31 5.0 litre V8 has been rebuilt with a Holley 650 Vac Sec, VN Group A heads, electronic ignition, twin thermo fans, a Larry Perkins race kit with approximately 380Hp at the flywheel. The SS has travelled approximately 30,000 Klms on the rebuilt running gear.
The car still retains its original intake manifold, M21 gearbox and factory diff with Pacemaker extractors through to a new dual 3" exhaust system.
The Torana is riding on 13" Hotwire mags (4 supplied) with Bridgestone 205/60R13 tyres all round.
