OPEN TO OFFERS ……1976 Holden HX One Tonner – Fully Restored, Original Heart
Reluctant sale of my 1976 HX One Tonner, a properly restored Aussie classic finished the way I always dreamed of owning one when I was a young bloke.
This Tonner has undergone a full body restoration by a professional car restorer on the Central Coast and is finished in HSV Sting Red, a color that really suits the HX lines and gives it serious presence. The build focused on quality and authenticity rather than over-modification.
The engine remains the original unit and is completely unmolested, just as Holden intended. It starts easily, runs well, and sounds fantastic.
The car runs extractors and a twin exhaust system, producing a deep, beautiful note without being obnoxious — just the right sound for a classic Holden.
The interior has been restored and upgraded with tasteful, era-correct GTS components, including:
• GTS instrument cluster
• GTS console
• GTS steering wheel
A modern RetroSound stereo has been installed, giving modern functionality (Bluetooth, etc.) while keeping the classic look.
Out back is a custom aluminium tray frame, fitted with over 100-year-old timber boards, professionally coated in marine varnish. It’s a real standout feature and complements the car perfectly.
Externally, the vehicle is finished with the desirable twin headlight front end, completing the tough HX GTS-style appearance.

Reason for Sale:
It’s simply time. Over the past 5–6 years, the car has only come out of the shed for rego inspections and the occasional run. It deserves a new owner who’ll drive it, show it, and enjoy it.
If you’re chasing a properly restored HX One Tonner with the right period upgrades, standout craftsmanship, and an original, honest driveline, this one is well worth a look.
