Extremely elegant 1974 Bentley T1. imported from UK to Sydney Australia early 1980s. This is a well-maintained, full chrome model, with discretely flared wheel arches, and including the Flying B emblem. This vehicle is mechanically perfect, under the care of a certified Rolls Royce mechanic, and in routine use, including regular open road motoring. The odometer is showing 143,00 miles and given the good condition of the vehicle is believed to be accurate. It is registered with historic plates. This Bentley presents in classic smoke Green (a deep ocean aqua) with gold pin-striping, green leather interior and green carpet. All leather and woodwork are in perfect condition. This vehicle is a frequent head-turner, drawing much enthusiastic comment and photo opportunities. A fine example of a rare and beautiful model.
Approximately 60 pages of build sheets detail its six-month production, testing and painting; April to September 1974. The car was ordered in October 1973 for a principal of McConomy & Co Ltd Global Trader and Supplier of Hides and Skins. There were numerous special requirements, including for seat runners to be set back over 2". The car was originally delivered to the Rolls Royce Division of Motor Dealers Wadham Stringer (Guildford) Limited Surrey UK in September 1974 and the commencement of warranty is noted as 4 October 1974.Service and warranty repairs are documented until1980.
In the early 1980s the car was imported from the UK to Australia. There are service and repair records of May 1985 and July 1988, including a York Motors record of 75,759 miles in 1988. Since that time it is understood to have been owned by a key member of the Rolls Royce Owners Club, then an owner in Mossvale until its current ownership. The vehicle has had extensive service, repair and refurbishment undertaken over the past few years by a certified Rolls Royce mechanic. The current owner is rebuilding an inner-city residence and garaging will become a problem within the next months.
