1973 Land Rover Series 3 SWB, 2.25 Petrol, 4-speed manual.
Complete restore back to original over the last 8 years. Currently registered but selling unregistered.
Some highlights of the restore include a repaint, engine rebuild with new pistons and bearings, replacement Autosparks wiring harness, new distributor and coil, new carburettor, Raptor underbody coating, re-galvanized body capping, new brake lines, new clutch plate, and rust treated and painted inside-out chassis.
My unprofessional opinion is that the engine is sweet, but that the gearbox could be better. It goes into gear and drives fine but I feel it could go "deeper" into gear. Low range is noisy so I'm rather not using it, and there is oil leaks at the front and back of the box.
Old Land Rovers are hard work, so if you’re not up to it, or don’t have the money, please don’t enquire. Won’t respond to “Is this available?” or “How’s the rust?”. Put in the effort and write a proper message.
We’re moving and I have to sell it, but I do have time, so won’t give it away.
