The BMW E9 coupe is one of the most collectible European vintage vehicles on the market, gaining in both popularity and rarity. As one of the first iterations of the E9, this 1973 ‘Golf Yellow’ BMW CSi is located in Brisbane, Qld.
The vehicle was initially purchased in England and brought to Australia in the late 1980’s. It has been in my family since 1994. The car was initially purchased for the Repco Classic Rallies (tarmac) and has been used for motor club events over the years.
The odometer is reading 125, 600 miles. The vehicle has only done about 25,000 miles in the las 20 years. It has always been well maintained. The brakes and clutch have had a major overhaul in the last few years. The vehicle was repainted in about 2005. Overall, the paintwork is in good condition but there is a small amount of paint bubbling on the boot & a small patch of paint missing on the right fender where a decal was removed. Recaro seats have been fitted to the front. The rear seats are in good condition. Dash and wood paneling are in fair condition given the age. All electric windows operate. There are no oil leaks. A previous owner upgraded the motor with a performance camshaft that remains in the engine.
The vehicle is registered as a Special Interest Vehicle that restricts usage but saves substantially on registration costs.
