"Classic 1972 MGB Project Car – “Café Racer".
I am regretfully offering this 1972 MGB project car for sale. The major expenses have already been covered.
This car was originally owned by a Gentleman who drove it for many years in Canada and later in Italy. After retiring here, he began converting it into a “Café Racer.” Unfortunately, due to ill health, he couldn't complete the project, and I have brought it to its current semi-finished stage. As of now, all the hard work has been done and many new and reconditioned spare parts are also included. See pictures.
Key Highlights:
• Extensive Rust Repair: The door sills had significant rust, so I had the inner, outer, and centre sills replaced, along with a bare metal respray. All body repairs and paint carried out by a professional Panel Beater. Pictures available.
• New Front Suspension: The front suspension, including the steering, is mostly brand new.
• Upgraded Braking System: The full, export split-system braking, including the brake lines, is also new.
• Original Rostyle Chrome and Black wheels, in excellent condition with brand new Tyres.
• All brand-new gauges including GPS speedo.
• Media blasted and powder coated seat frames ready for upholstery.
• Documented Work: I have pictures documenting all this work, along with a list of costs that far exceed the asking price.
• Reconditioned Engine: Included in the sale is a fully reconditioned engine including Hardened Steel Valve seats for use with unleaded fuel.
• Also included is the original engine, which has been dismantled for inspection.
• Original Gearbox: The gearbox is the original four-speed all-synchro but has not been refitted.
• Additional Parts: There are many more parts ready for fitment, as shown in the accompanying pictures.
• Engine & Gearbox: If the new owner were to install the engine and gearbox, the car would be drivable without any further immediate expenditure. All that remains is the enjoyable final fit out work, perfect for an enthusiastic MG lover.
Now I have explained the plus point here are the cons:
• There is no soft top
• The windscreen is cracked
• The Bonnet and Boot Lid are prepped but not yet painted. The necessary paint and undercoating’s are provided.
We are Located in Rylstone, just three hours from Sydney across the Blue Mountains. The price is now sacrificed at well below the amount it has already had spent on it. Don't miss this chance to own a classic 1972 MGB with the hardest work already done. Contact me today to arrange a viewing and complete this exciting project!
As a footnote, I am amenable to look at offers from someone who just wants a first class body with suspension but without all the listed extras such as spare parts and new engine.
