Genuine 1972 HQ GTS Monaro. Full bare metal restoration carried in the 2010s that paid respect to the cars classic appeal whilst bringing it up to date in some aspects to make it more usable.
With the theme “better than new”, the car was stripped down to the bare shell and rebuilt with new or upgraded parts right throughout. It received a full bare metal respray in a unique deep metallic purple (with the front chassis / sub-frame being powder coated), including the factory correct bonnet and boot patterns in silver. All running gear and every bush, bearing and grommet was replaced. With refurbished chrome work, the under body, engine bay and boot were painted to better than showroom condition. The original 253 was replaced with a new crate engine as per the list below. Full restoration work carried out by HDT trained mechanical engineer who later became a senior engineering figure in Australian motoring.

- New GTS sprint CTM wheels
- New interior roof lining, sun visors and arm rests
- New mirrors (colour coded)

- New door and window rubbers

- Replaced all under bonnet braided hoses with black hoses
