This car was subject to a complete nut and bolt rebuild over 5 years which was completed in 2014. The aim was to bring it back to original specification as far as possible. In addition, the engine was rebuilt as a 1600cc in 2022. The car has been driven very little since completing the restoration in 2014. The rebuild included:
- Body and chassis dipped in alkaline bath to remove all rust
- Body and chassis primed immediately after dipping
- All rust removed and welded (there wasn't a lot other than the usual rear window quarters)
- Complete respray in original colour (Acrylic)
- Complete engine rebuild/upgrade in last 12 months (It flies along now!)
- All rubbers renewed
- brake system fully refurbished or renewed
- Interior renewed completely including hood lining, carpets, doorcards and seats (original seats are in decent condition and supplied with the vehicle)
- Tastefully integrated sound system with Bluetooth retro look head unit, 4 speakers and 10” active subwoofer
- Fully integrated security system with remote immobiliser arm/disarm
- Suspension springs, shockers and rubber components replaced
- Too many other items replaced or refurbished
- Can supply photos and receipts etc. for serious buyers
The rebuild was a project carried out by myself and (then) teenage son but we have both moved on to other things and feel the car needs a new owner despite the emotional attachment. Sensible offers considered.
