I have owned the car since 1976. There is a cupboard full of mechanical spares plus a spare high end engine. There is a spare bonnet, 2 spare boot lids, 3 LH and 3 RH mudguards and a radiator. Also going with the cars is all the tuning gear I have and some specialized tools.
The primary car has 240K front seats and an original SSS tacko.
I am selling the whole lot as one, and the reason for selling is I have lost interest and am too old to muck around any more. The primary car has some surface rust and needs painting.
In modifying this car it was never my intention to get a hard riding, high revving beast. I have produced a very pleasant cruiser.
I have paid a huge amount of attention to the suspension. Many of the parts for the suspension have been swapped many times to ensure that I got the ride I wanted. The biggest improvement that I have done is to put urethane in the rear trailing arms and then had them properly aligned to eliminate rear wheel steer when the tires get hot. This means that the car has similar handling characteristics as a Pug 504.There are Tockico gas filled shocks all round, and the usual 240K struts with Toyota brakes at the front. Really now needs a limited slip diff. This car has a long travel soft suspension that is a real dream on the road.
The engine has the highest spec SSS head. I have port and polished and CC'ed the head myself. It has a low speed cam, which brings in torque from 2,500 rpm peaking out at 4,500 rpm. The result is an engine that is a delight to drive, and you do not have to push it to it's noisy limits to get power out of it. It is based on a 180B block has a capacity of 1834cc, and has a compression ratio of 9.4:1. It has done approximately 40,000 miles since new. It has the biggest SU carbs that come standard for the Datsuns.
The gear box in this car is a 5 speed Z box in the other a 5 speed K box.
I have done all the work on this car myself, with a few exceptions.
The car has additionally a Crane Cam Digital Multispark Ignition, a sensor near field ignition key, ZTE car computer with cruise control,
An EGO sensor and reader, in a stainless exhaust electric fan and corrosion guard rust preventer.
