This 1970 Ford Bronco has been through a ground up, nut and bolt rebuild into a cool restomod cruiser. The Ford Bronco is an absolute cult car. It was a topless 4×4 that was made to get out and enjoy the open air. Now days, first generation Bronco’s are extremely collectible and in high demand for good examples. This example was purchase out of the Arizona desert and fully restored in Toowoomba, QLD.
The Bronco was sent to Resident Restorations where is was completely stripped down with body coming off chassis. The body of the car was in extremely good condition without any significant rust or any previous accident repairs. The body was tidied up before being coated inside, out and underneath in Wimbledon white. Everything taken from underneath the body was sent off to powder coat at the same time. Once the paintwork was completed, new rubbers and glass was fitted up and the chassis mated back to the body. There is a removable soft top that has never been fitted to the car and the Bronco sits on a set of polished 15" wheels with 32" All Terrain tyres.
The bronco was then sent off to Cal’s Garage who was responsible for the mechanical on the car. A new 370hp Blueprint crate 302ci small block Ford V8 was ordered for the car. The engine features alloy heads, Edelbrock Performer manifold, electronic ignition and a Holley Brawler 750CFM Carburettor. The engine is paired to an automatic transmission with transfer case and four wheel drive. Exhaust gasses are expelled through ceramic coated headers into a custom stainless steel exhaust. The exhaust features a Varex electronic valve to change the car between rowdy and civilized at the flick of a switch. Cal’s Garage also fabricated up the full custom roll cage and had it coated to suit. Other upgrades include power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes.
The inside was treated to a complete custom leather trim by KR Auto trimmers using a distressed tan leather with diamond stitch highlights. The seats are all new with a Tuffy Security console and cup holders splitting the front buckets. Under the new carpets was all sound deadened using Car Builders insulation. The roll cage received custom trimmed padding all round. Some cool upgrades inside include a Dakota Digital dash and Retrosounds Bluetooth stereo system.
