For Sale: 1966 Mustang Convertible
I’ve owned this classic since October 2014, purchasing it directly from the dealer who imported it to Australia.
Originally finished in Wimbledon White, it was repainted red in the U.S. prior to export. Built in San Jose on 20 September 1965, it’s most likely a “dry climate” car.
The Mustang presents beautifully and always draws attention on the road. The odometer shows 16,000 miles (it had 6,889 miles when I bought it), but it’s fair to assume it has turned over at least once.
Upgrades and improvements during my ownership include:
PWR radiator
Brake booster
Transmission oil cooler
Period-correct power antenna, speaker system, Bluetooth slide bar radio, and hidden subwoofer
Numerous cosmetic and chrome replacements (seatbelts, sun visors, header bar, instrument cluster, badges, glove box, washer bag, sill plates, gas cap, mirrors, horn ring, LED lighting kit, mouldings, bumpers, guards, shifter, convertible boot cover, boot mat, stainless under-hood trim, shocks, brace bar, Monte Carlo bar, and more)
Aftermarket centre console
New vinyl seats and padding
New wheels and tyres
MSD Pro-Billet distributor and leads
The car runs beautifully, starts first turn, and could easily be enjoyed as a reliable daily driver.
I’m selling as I rarely get the chance to use it—most of my time is spent travelling remotely, overseas, or four-wheel driving.
