Fully restored in showroom condition, matching numbers, desirable coluor combination, Australian delivered. Travelled only 926 miles (1,490 km) since restoration. Collectors or investors car.
Rarely does an S type or MK 2 of this caliber come onto the market presenting as if it has just been driven straight off the showroom floor.
First sold by Bryson Motors P/L in Sydney 1966. This beautiful S type has been undergone a full restoration to factory standards, over the past 3 years with countless hours of work and money spent. I have kept the rebuild to original for the purists out there except for the following upgrades. Aluminum radiator with thermo fan and overflow recovery tank, stainless steel exhaust with silver ceramic coated exhaust manifolds, front retractable seat belts, colour change to the interior trim, from factory grey to tan, complimenting the new timberwork, black carpets with matching tan piping. Period correct Mota-Lita steering wheel.
The engine was fully rebuilt by Peninsular Jaguar Centre in 2021 at a cost of $10,000.
The bodywork was professionally done in 2017 by Adamthwaite crash repairs NSW. The car was stripped, windows removed, bodywork inside and out, sand blasted with very little rust or metal work needed, due to it being an Australian delivered car. A new reproduction wiring harness from the UK was fitted throughout but not connected.
It was at this point I purchased the car as a project to keep. The interior was bare, rear windscreen & radiator out. The car was rolling but never started, abandoned by two previous owners due to health reasons.
I was attracted to this S type as they are arguably better engineered and more sophisticated than the Mk2’s offering the classic early Jaguar saloon looks, powerful XK 3.8 litre engine with independent rear suspension, extra parcel shelf inside and a boot big enough to fit two bodies or a vintage air-conditioning unit. Somewhere along the way I had decided to sell her and now look for the next project. The cost of parts and professional labour has exceeded the market value of this car at your gain.
The exterior paint and chrome present immaculately with no rust, dents, scuffs or stone chips. The interior is also immaculate re-trimmed in leather and is as new, making it a lovely place to sit. This car is not quite in concourse condition due to some scratches on the glass and some chrome on the window frames showing signs of age. She is certainly a head turner wherever I go, ready to show at club events or drive reliably with nothing to spend for years.
A full list of restoration works is attached along with pictures showing before during and after the project. Jaguar Heritage Certificate, original sales document, parts, workshop & owner’s manuals with full registration until 30th June. The personalised number plates can be included to a Queensland buyer. The famous car collector Jay Leno frequently advises that it is far more economical to buy a classic car that has already been meticulously restored, allowing someone else to spend the excessive money and time on it, rather than taking on a project car yourself.
Don't miss this opportunity to buy a very attractive classic Jag that has been fully restored, reliable, kept under covers and driven regularly.
