1964 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible – Award Winning Rotisserie Restoration
An extremely rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional investment-grade example of the legendary 1964 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, widely regarded as one of the most iconic American luxury convertibles ever produced during Cadillac’s golden era.
With only 1,870 examples produced worldwide, the 1964 Eldorado Biarritz represents the pinnacle of Cadillac styling, engineering and prestige. It also marks the final year of Cadillac’s legendary tail-fin design, making it one of the most desirable and collectible Cadillacs ever built.
This particular example has undergone a meticulous ground-up nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration completed over eight years, resulting in a presentation that places the vehicle among the finest restored examples in Australia today.
The exceptional quality of the restoration has been formally recognised on the show circuit, where the car was awarded First Place Show & Shine and First Place Best American Vehicle, highlighting the outstanding craftsmanship and presentation of the vehicle.
The body was stripped completely to bare metal before being carefully restored. Rust repairs were professionally completed where required, and due to the rarity of replacement panels, factory-style floor sections were custom fabricated and stamped to maintain original construction methods. Special care was taken to preserve the long Cadillac body panels and iconic factory lines.
The car was then professionally refinished in its correct factory Aquamarine colour, matched using an authentic colour chip sourced from the United States. Chrome and stainless trim — of which these Cadillacs feature extensively — were meticulously restored or replaced, resulting in a stunning finish throughout.
Power comes from Cadillac’s legendary 429 cubic-inch V8 engine, fully rebuilt and paired with the correct Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, introduced for the 1964 model year. The engine bay presents in outstanding factory-style condition.
The underside of the vehicle reflects the same extraordinary level of detail. As the restorer owned a powder-coating business, numerous structural and suspension components were professionally powder-coated including chassis rails, crossmembers, suspension components, radiator support, inner guards and splash guards. A custom stainless-steel exhaust system runs the full length of the vehicle.
The interior has been completely restored in premium white leather, beautifully complementing the Aquamarine exterior. Prior to installation, the cabin was treated with Dynamat insulation throughout the floors and doors for improved comfort and reduced road noise. Luxury features include air conditioning, power windows, power seats, power steering, power brakes and power convertible roof. A discreet Bluetooth audio system has been integrated within the glove box for modern convenience while maintaining the original appearance.
The car is fitted with a professionally installed air-bag suspension system, allowing factory ride height or a dramatic lowered display stance. It rides on 22-inch Detroit steel wheels finished in off-white, perfectly suiting the vehicle’s period style. All modifications are fully engineered and certified, with documentation included.
Since completion, the vehicle has been meticulously preserved, never driven in rain and always stored indoors. It is kept inside a protective car bubble within a secure shed environment to maintain its show-quality condition.
Opportunities to acquire a truly outstanding, award-winning and extensively restored 1964 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible of this calibre are extremely rare. This El Dorado would arguably be the best in Australia.
A remarkable example of American automotive luxury and craftsmanship.
