A desirable classic with all the features you should be chasing:
* Australian delivery through Bryson Industries, Melbourne, first registered in April 1962.
* Pearl grey paint with red interior.
* The big 3.8 litre DOHC straight 6.
*. 4 speed manual with electric Overdrive.
* 5 chrome wire spoke wheels (including spare), all fitted with modern, low mileage Dunlop Sport Classic tyres in correct 185/80V R15.
* Moto-lita steering wheel.
*. Original Handbook, spare-wheel tool container, tools and jack.
A joy to drive in strong mechanical condition, fully road registered until June 2026 and passed RWC, recently serviced and new radiator hoses fitted. Beneficial mechanical upgrades over the years including fitting an alternator and the all-syncro ("post-Moss") manual gearbox (replacing the original 3-speed automatic) have improved the usability enormously.
Significant works carried out in late 2019 by Jaguar specialist, including
* New brake callipers, discs, pads, hoses, master cylinder and brake booster.
* Front and rear suspension brushes, ball joints and steering coupling.
* New muffler, engine mounts and various gaskets.
Original paintwork presents well for its age (naturally with some blemishes), chrome exterior fittings and badges are complete and bright. Interior woodwork still gleams. Good headlining. The front passenger seat is worn but the rest of the upholstery is again original but reasonably fair. A new custom boot mat has been fitted.
My son and I have loved tinkering, polishing and Sunday jaunts but now its time for someone else to revel in its grace. An honest, original classic that can continue to be enjoyed as is but with the added potential to be a very rewarding project with further sensible improvements. Some new fittings are included.
A final note - odometer is showing 03796 miles which judging by condition is 103796 miles.
