Immaculate 1961 Mark 2. It looks black in photos but colour is a very dark British Racing Green. I have owned it since Sept 2011. Genuine sale - another Jag is on its way. It was a barn find in the 1990's and superbly restored to original historic colours (Jag Heritage Trust documents included with car) by a previous owner. The full restoration photos go with the car, as do all restoration invoices etc. The speedo was zeroed at completion restoration around 2000 - currently showing 25,963 miles (41,774km). I have put 5514 miles on it in 15 years so as mint as the day I bought it. It had new tyres 2018, new wire wheels in 2021, and new battery in 2025 (reciepts for all). As you can see in photos the bodywork and interior are pretty much faultless and it would not take much to get it to full concourse standard.
The motor is a 3.8 straight six and is spotless and was fully restored and runs on 95 unleaded. It has a 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive and is a pleasure to drive.
The car includes:
Original toolkit
Original handbook
A workshop manual
Heritage documents
Restoration photos and receipts
Various books of interest to Jaguar Mark 2 owners
Please note the car is being sold unregistered/no roadworthy as it is on non-transferable club plates. The mechanic/garage owner who has looked after it since 2012 is happy to talk to any prospective buyer about the car and its condition.
It is a great car if you are looking for an extra special Mark2 and I am more than happy to provide extra detail if you are enquiring from interstate or if visiting the car is difficult.
