Jaguar E-Type 1961 S1 3.8 Flat Floor OTS (Open Two Seater) Chassis # 850171 Engine # R1842-8 Body # R1702 Gearbox # EB 954 JS This is a unique opportunity to purchase an all matching numbers original RHD very early Series 1 3.8ltr Roadster, welded in louvers, flat floor, triple throttle linkage. Finished in original acrylic black paint. Engine, head, gear box and chassis all correctly numbered as shown on the original factory ID plate and Heritage Certificate. Construction of this car was completed on 25 September 1961 and was shipped to Singapore Cycle and Carriage Company on 12 October 1961 as one of the first six E-Types sold new in South East Asia. Head and engine was fully reconditioned by Anthony Ardito as well as complete rewire. Since my purchase in October 2006 I have partly restored the car to include. New space frame set made to exacting standards by E-Type Fabs. These frame rails are fabricated in the UK by “E-Type Fabs” - using the highest quality seamless tubing available, and to the highest degree of precision and workmanship. These are, quite simply, the best frame rails available - worldwide. Also Includes: Original E-Type hard top, complete, all chrome fittings in place, rare accessory Original tool kit and jack New hubs/ splines S2 Braking system (original Girlock brakes available) Rear end fully rebuilt, Diff etc. Dunlop “D” Type alloy rims with triple eared spinners Abarth exhaust system, New Old Stock, these are original, made in the sixties, they were an aftermarket accessory for the E-Type at the time, exceedingly rare, imported from Netherlands, a wonderful sound. Original exhaust available. MARSTEN type original radiator LUCAS TYPE DYNALITE alternator, exact replica of original generator, negative earth. original available High Torque starter motor, makes life much easier 123 Electronic ignition and flamethrower coil Lucas PL700 tri bar headlights Spal, Thermo fan, made in Italy The body is totally rust free. New fabric hood, hood frame repainted and new hood envelope cover. All interior trimmed by Eastcoast Trimshop, seats Connolly leather. The car comes with a comprehensive history file and includes the following Workshop Manual - Parts Catalogue - Shelley Bottle Jack, exceedingly rare. The car exhibits the early production features including Flat Floor pans, separately pressed bonnet louvers, early carburettor triple throttle linkages, Lucas number plate lamp assemblies, pumpkin painted head etc. Compression as of October 2023, 1/170, 2/175, 3/150, 4/165, 5/160, 6/155. Of the total production of 357 original RHD OTS Flat Floor cars, (Chassis # 850001 - 850357 built between March 1961 to January 1962) approximately 200 survive world wide with about 16 currently in Australia, this is possibly the second oldest, this is No.171 OTS off the assembly line. This extremely rare early RHD E-Type has been lovingly maintained over the last 17 years and presents an excellent long term investment for the future. Time to sell getting a bit too old to make the most of it
