he story of the Porsche 356 began not as a product, but as an idea. Ferry Porsche’s belief that a lightweight, finely balanced sports car could deliver more driving pleasure than outright power alone.
First realised in 1948, the 356 established the core principles that would come to define the brand: precision, efficiency, and an intimate connection between driver and machine.
By the time the 356B was introduced, Porsche had refined the original concept into something more resolved and usable, without compromising the purity that defined the early cars. The T5 body style, produced from late 1959 through to 1961, represents one of the most balanced and desirable iterations of the model.
It retains the delicate proportions and lightness of the earlier A-series cars, while introducing subtle yet important visual and engineering evolutions, higher-set headlights, revised front and rear treatments, and a more confident stance on the road.

Crucially, it retains its original Red interior, a striking and highly desirable combination that reinforces both its period character and visual appeal.
Beneath the decklid, it is powered by a 1600cc Porsche flat-four air-cooled engine, the backbone of Porsche’s earliest engineering philosophy. On the road, the 356B T5 delivers exactly what defines the early Porsche experience: lightness, tactility, and an intimate connection between driver and machine.
