Comments from the seller

This is a good example of a rare and much sought after 1960 Austin Healey 3000 Mk1 BN7, 2 seater, 1 of just 157 two seater RHD cars built. The car was first registered in the UK in January 1960. Information with the car indicates that the engine was replaced in 1972 with a higher spec BJ7 unit and has also been upgraded to BJ8 2" SU HD8 carbs, which were reconditioned in 2016. It was also updated with a 4 speed O/D "on/off" gearbox with the preferred center gear shift which works smoothly at the flick of the switch. The motor is very strong and was a recent rebuild by previous owner in late 2021 with the block acid tanked, decked and honed, new Hepalite pistons 0.30", crankshaft grind with new 0.20" big end and 0.20" mains bearings, new fast road rally custom grind by Clive Cams, new cam bearings, cleaned and refaced lifters, upgrade with rear main seal conversion and balanced, and machined flywheel. The head was cracked tested, new performance valves, guides, seals, springs and valve seats fitted. The radiator was also re-cored during the rebuild and a new battery was installed ealry 2024. The car is now fitted with Healey Factory headers, free flow exhaust and new tail pipe with SS tips. The car has 4x newly reconditioned shocks and new rubber bushings and fulcrum pins (2023) in the front suspension. Have also just installed new steering center rod with adjustable arms. Rear springs have also been replaced at some point. Mechanically, the car needs nothing. The speedo reads 37188 miles, but I assume it has travelled further, with known history that it spent time in the UK, Ireland and Sweden before being imported to Australia around August / September 2014. Originally white with red coves, the car was painted Seamist Green in approx 2010 in the UK - this is now a popular Big Healey colour and it attracts plenty of positive comments, but it does have a few minor blemishes. Interior is in excellent condition, with balck / white leather seat covers, black trim panels and almost black dark green carpets. Originally a disc wheel car, the car has been upgraded with 5x new original paint Dunlop wire wheels with Vredestein Sports Classic tyres and new splined hubs. Spare wheel location has been modified to the boot for additional cockpit space, but the original BN7 fittings for cabin location are included. The car has a good soft top and sidescreens, but these are rarely used ! There is also a fairly new tonneau cover. New indicators lights have been fitted with the refelectrors relocated to number plate mount. Font has Lucas Driving lights with AH Spares mounts that are wired to high beam and the rear is fitted with Rally Bumperettes with AH Spares mounts. The original bumper bars and front apron panel with all brackets are included in case you want to go back to stock. Last two pics show bumpers fitted. The car is on Club Rego which cannot be transferred, but was renewed with Pink Slip in July 2025. Only selling because I need the funds for an MGC project and a Bugeye Sprite project for my daughter. Come and take a look or I may be able to bring to you if in Sydney.
