Offered for sale is a 1959 MGA Mk2. 7422 miles / 12000 Km's This car originated in Cape Town, South Africa (SA). I inherited the MGA & brought the car to Australia 2012. The Odometer at that time displayed 83078 miles. Prior to shipping to Australia a major restoration was completed as described below. The car has been well maintained to date as described below. The car has been a weekend pleasure, always garaged & never driven in the rain. The soft top & side windows are made from Mohair fabric & are still in as new condition. The tonneau cover is vinyl & also as new condition. The car runs on 195/65/R15 Radials, which considerably improve road holding. The engine oil pressure is a constant 70lbs & the water temperature hovers around 170F when driving. All receipts available to back up work completed below. Currently running on NSW Historic Plates. Prior to shipping from SA to Australia, I had the following work completed – Motor rebuilt & converted to Unleaded Fuel Interior & Door trim recovered & wooden supports replaced Dash board recovered in same style material as the leather seats New centre arm rest fitted New Moto lita steering wheel fitted Laptop seat belts fitted New plexi glass & Mohair Trim on the side windows New Mohair Soft Top fitted Fog lights fitted Clearvue sun visors fitted New windscreen rubbers fitted Dash gauges checked & faulty ones repaired or replaced. All in working order Matching spare wheel trim fitted New front grill surround fitted New gearbox mountings / speedometer cable / universal steering boots New front brake discs & replaced all brake flexi pipes New rubber diff check straps Generator refurbished Electric fan fitted to radiator Stainless steel exhaust system fitted Battery relocated to engine bay In 2018 the following work was completed at 87694 miles – Front shocks reconditioned / replaced front lower bushes, bump stops & tie end rod boots New cross member fitted / new clutch slave cylinder Change to spin on oil filter / replace seals on tappet cover New radiator fitted New Master brake & clutch cylinder replaced In 2022 the following work was completed at 88976 miles – Gearbox removed & completely rebuilt Both Carburettors rebuilt, new floats & jets etc...H4 Type Brake service completed & all hoses checked for leaks. Front & Rear brakes set for correct freeplay In 2023 the following work was completed at 89957 miles - New fuel pump & relay fitted Indicator flasher unit replaced In 2025 the following work was completed at 90500 miles - New ignition coil & lead fitted New Water Pump fitted This is a great car, only selling as a new project is on the way.
