This 1952 Austin AS3 A30 was delivered in August of 1953. 37 years later I became the custodian from the original family. I was 15/16years old and loved the A30 since about 12 when I first saw pictures of my dad’s AS3 A30. His first car. This car would have to be of the oldest in Australia predating matching engine and body numbers. All under body was soda blasted and meticulously re sealed all perished rubber was replaced and all components degreased and painted in rust retardant paint. Complete bare metal body respray. All rust(the little there was)removed and where possible all dents(old lady car park dents)and holes welded not filled. 2pk paint inside and out. Interior has been done to a hi standard. All seating,door cards,carpet has been underlaid and sound deadening to floor and firewall. Wool hood linings may not follow original cloth just adds to quality of restoration. Rewired front to back. Indicators are added for safety and semaphore arms work in unison. Mechanically car still runs on all original engine, gearbox and clutch(never rebuilt) sounds great no knocking issues just like she has all the years I’ve owned her. Rear leaf springs and shock absorbers have all been reconditioned. Brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders and lines have either been reconditioned or replaced to current standards. All new tyres Well over $20k spent. Interior and bodywork were well over $8k each and all rubbers not available here I had sent from the UK. The car was a labor of love. She just needs a new home and someone who’s good with mechanical work. The car has been sitting on and off over the past few years I will have here running for those that come to see. Comes with original purchase documents, car manual and Avon tyre booklet. Will also include my library of A30 books and manuals. Along with a plethora of other car books and magazines( not shown in pictures) will include photo documentation of all of the work carried out for new owner to many for add. The car needs little to be a great Sunday drive. I have moved close to the ocean and she needs a dryer climate and not subjected to rusty ocean atmosphere. Car is unregistered Odometer is not true indicator of miles and is only since restoration of body and interior.
