Here for sale and change of custodian, is this ex Pebble Beach, meticulously restored in Diamond Black, 1950 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 Club Coupe. Painstakingly and professionally rebuild by Roseville Rod and Custom in California in 2009 the car went on to achieve 991points from a possible 1000 at the 2011 Oldsmobile Clubs of America Nationals in Reno Navada.
In 2014 Rocket 88 went to Pebble Beach for the Monterey Classic Car Week and subsequently sold at a Mecum Auction there to then be shipped to Western Australia where she has lived since as part of a private car collection with minimal use.
Showing only 33,900miles on the clock, she looks and drives as good as new if not better and has been regularly maintained regardless of cost.
This car is truly immaculate in every respect and is a credit to the craftsmen who restored her well beyond her 1950 GM tolerances.
The car is not only a legend, but leaves a musical legacy, earning a place in music history with the first Rock ‘n’ Roll song, “Rocket 88” by Jackie Brenston and Ike Turner.
The Rocket 88 was one of the fastest machines in America when it launched in 1949 and marked the beginning of the post-war horsepower race.
One of only 10,772 built. Powered by a matching number 303 ci V8 producing a whopping 135HP which in turn is transferred to the rear wheels by a 4 speed Hydramatic transmission.
This car was, and still is a weapon! A real all ages head turner.
Offered here at a fraction of its restoration costs, she is truly a jewal to be added to any car collection.
